We want our kids to know God and His wonderful stories of old - to know His promises and His power to change circumstances. We want young ones to repeatedly hear the Gospel - the Good News, that Jesus really did come to earth, and that He died to cover the whole cost of sin for each one of us. And now that Christ is risen, He wants us to choose Him as the Way, the Truth, and the Life so we can be with Him and celebrate forever!
For these reasons, it is our joy to teach Bible stories, share the journeys of missionaries around the world, and exemplify the disciplines of the Christian walk when we stand before our kids in the classroom. This is all a vital part of the experience of a child coming to know the Lord!
As they learn about who God is, we also want children to see clearly His desire to speak to His kids! We believe He is happy to hear from His children every time they seek Him. It is our prayer that they would recognize Jesus as their best friend - unfailing, faithful friend - who is delighted to share His heart with those who listen.
Jesus said, "Instead of being my servant, I'd like you to be my friend. Servants don't get to hear secrets, but friends do. So I'll call you my friend, because I tell you everything my Father tells me."- John 15:15
At the deepest level, we truly want these children to know God's great love for each one of them. We believe that this generation will be transformed as they learn to see themselves through the eyes of their Creator- beautiful, significant, fun to be with, wonderfully and fearfully made!!!
That is what we are praying for, working towards, and believing that God is accomplishing in our children's ministry here at Cornerstone. Our hearts are open to receive the amazing gifts that the Lord brings through each precious child!
