Youth Group . . .

Thumbnail example

Our approach to youth ministry is to develop teenagers that become disciples of Jesus Christ and who, in turn, disciple others. We want to draw teenagers to Christ by expressing His unconditional love to them through word and witness.

The aim of our youth group meetings are to provide a safe and loving atmosphere for each young person to connect and build relationships with adult leaders, peers, and above all Jesus Christ. It is within this setting that leaders are able to interact with students to address the spiritual, emotional, and social needs unique to today’s youth.

Youth Group meetings . . .

On Sunday nights at 7:00 pm, high school students gather to be real with each other; whether they are playing basketball in the gym or having small group discussions in the youth room, open and honest relationships are developed. Throughout the week, small groups of high school students meet to foster intimate relationships where they hold each other accountable and grow together in their faith. Thursday night at 7:00 pm middle school students take over the church with their energy: games, talk, and worship are just the beginning. Students from many different schools come together and form relationships that go beyond surface level.

Youth Group Trips . . .

In addition to meeting weekly, we offer 4 overnight trips a year for the students to attend. Middle school students go to snow camp for a long weekend in the winter and spend five days at Refreshing Mountain Camp in the summer. Meanwhile, the high school students go on a ski trip every winter. In summer our high school students alternate yearly between an overseas mission trip and a weeklong camping trip. The summer of 2007 was marked by a trip to Ecuador, so for the summer of 2008 our high schoolers will be seeking God in the wilderness!
